Fido Had An Accident
Not all pet odors are easily removed, unfortunately. Pet urine easily soaks through the backing of the carpet into the padding underneath. The padding can act as a sponge and absorb the urine, trapping it -- and it's odor -- under your carpet. In some severe cases, the urine penetrates into the sub-flooring under the padding and is trapped in the wood. This creates a problem that is multi-layered.
Bacteria can, and does, flourish in pet urine that is not cleaned completely. The bacteria and urine can cause permanent color loss to your carpet if not addressed quickly.
Dunn-Right Custom Carpet Cleaning specializes in removing pet odor. If the problem is in the carpet and padding, but has not gone into the sub-flooring, our cleaning method removes and neutralizes the chemicals in pet urine and dander.
If the odor originates from urine that has saturated the layers below the carpet, we apply a "urine neutralizer", which will rid the carpet of the urine odor and the bacteria that may be growing there.
Unfortunately, some of the most severe cases require more drastic action that goes beyond simply having the area cleaned. It is relatively rare, but replacement of the carpet padding, treatment of the under-side of the carpet and the sub-floor may be required.
Time is of the Essence
What can happen to your home if you do not treat those odors caused by your pets? Over time, those odors can saturate other porous surfaces in your home, from window treatments to floor moldings, furniture to even the concrete foundation.
